Solemn Reminders!
Im not sure if most of you have heard about the Avalanche that happened at Snowbird on Sunday the 14th of December. Here's an excerpt off Tetonat.com "A skier died on Sunday after being buried in an avalanche for about an hour in the Eye of the Needle area of Mount Baldy at Snowbird. Skier Heather Gross was still alive but unconscious when she was uncovered. Over 250 skiers responded to the avalanche site to help probe and search other potential victims. The area on Mount Baldy had just been opened to the public on Sunday after avalanche control work. Condolences to all those involved."
This was a freak avalanche in bounds and happened after avalanche control had done their work on Baldy. Its sad that this happened and my heart goes out to the family. I would also like to commend the volunteers who came to help in this time of need it really shows how much willingness of support is out there. Lastly I would like to say lets all remember to respect our surroundings and respect the mountain. Accidents happen but again don't let that stop you from enjoying one of if not the best sport around.
